Inflating the Bag
During the Festival, the balloonist compete for a prize, mostly in "Hare and Hound" races. The balloonmeister is the "hare" and lifts off first, then, at the signal, the other pilots quickly inflate their balloons and chase him as the "hounds". The "hare" lands and unfolds a target, and the "hounds" try to pass over as close as possible, dropping a bean bag onto the target. The one closed to the target wins.
When the balloons are being inflated for a race, it is a beautiful sight to see. They are all quite close together and all going up one after the other (or pretty much all at the same time).
